EHRC is EnAbling Change: here you’ll find tools designed to support employers and improve employment opportunities for persons with disabilities in Canada’s electricity sector.

As the electricity sector is rapidly evolving, innovative strategies to recruit, onboard and retain candidates define our leaders. EHRC supports employers with the information and tools to diversify its workforce. The industry cannot afford not to become more inclusive of people with disabilities.

The EnAbling Change program team has developed these tools to support employers in engaging with candidates with a disability so they may feel more included in the sector. All resources developed through this project have been designed in partnership with industry strakeholders to ensure their relevance to Canada’s electricity industry.

Disability and Inclusion Toolkit

Safe Space Disclosure Tool

EHRC’s Safe Space tool is an anonymous and confidential survey designed for employees to provide feedback on workplace inclusion and accessibility. Users can disclose their needs and share honest opinions on what needs improvement to enhance their work experience. The survey’s results will be used to help guide employers to improve policies, procedures, and workplace culture, and to track progress made on inclusion and accessibility initiatives over time. The confidentiality of survey respondents is assured. Information will only ever be shared with employers in aggregate and completely de-identified to help improve workplace policies and practices. This tool aims to measure progress towards diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility of people with disabilities over time.
