The federal government has been rolling out multiple assistance programs as part of its COVID-19 Economic Response Plan. What does this mean for employers? In this webinar, we look at three aspects of the plan:
- the Temporary 10% Wage Subsidy for Employers, a measure that will allow eligible employers to reduce the amount of payroll required to be remitted to the CRA;
- the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy, a program that will cover 75% of an employee’s wages (up to $847 per week) for employers who have suffered a drop in gross revenue from March to May;
- and the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) which provides interest-free loans of up to $40,000 to small businesses and not-for-profits, to help cover their operating costs during a period where their revenues have been temporarily reduced.
