About Grid Technology

Grid Technology involves the operation and maintenance of the organizational SCADA system (as opposed to the actual utility grid), and the interface of SCADA with other information systems, e.g., GIS, CRM, metering and more. Grid Technology competencies varies across organizations and these tasks may be performed by individuals or teams of professionals.

Within organizational management, Grid Technology tasks and responsibilities may be assigned to individuals with a range of job titles including (but not limited to):

  • Grid Specialists,
  • SCADA Specialists,
  • SCADA/Electrical Engineering Technicians and Technologists;
  • Professional Engineer (including SCADA, Electrical, Computer, Software Engineers);
  • Grid Analysts.
