Power generation utilities and firms face a shortage of skilled workers, and so must recruit workers with little or no experience in the electricity sector. There’s a pressing need for comprehensive training programs to help new employees excel in the industry.
This applies in various sectors of the industry, including wind energy.
Results of the Project
To address this need, Electricity Human Resources Canada partnered with Natural Resources Canada to produce and promote an English translation of the Wind Turbine Maintenance Curriculum. This program was originally developed by CEGEP De la Gaspesie et des Iles. The English curriculum has been shared with community colleges and training providers across Canada to support the development and ongoing success of wind-turbine maintenance programs.
